So you made some New Year's Resolutions that included taking care of yourself. You started out with WONDERFUL INTENTIONS of going to the gym, walking on the treadmill (because it's too cold outside) working out at home and eating better. You did ok the first week- you got to exercise at least 3 times that week and you ate some salads. The second week of January came around and it was too cold to have to trek to the gym, you were tired because of your crazy schedule to do anything but watch tv. You are already sick of salads (and that's the only thing you can think of that is healthy) so you ate fast food................. does this sound familiar?
This was me for probably 10 years in a row, possibly more!!! I would always over indulge through the holidays on all the wonderful Christmas cookies, fudge, and goodies that are everywhere. Then, Dec 31st I was feeling like crap. My already tight clothes were even tighter, I was sluggish, had no energy, depressed and just down right angry at myself for not having self-control. So, I would make that New Year's Resolution list 1) LOSE 20 LBS 2) EAT BETTER 3) SAVE MONEY 4) PAY OFF MY CREDIT CARDS..................... it was the same EVERY YEAR!!!
Jan 1st I WAS READY! I had my library of workout videos that I had collected through the years and I was going to do them all. I went to the grocery store and bought enough foods for salads for 2 weeks. I was going to make it this year!!! That first week, I would do pretty good because I wasn't going to fail this time. I got up early and did my workouts. I packed my salads for school and I was excited. Second week of January I was tired from all my workouts (my body wasn't used to doing that!) and running around to my kids ballgames and such. So, I did maybe 3 workouts that week. It was cold outside so I wanted warm food. Salads just didn't do it for me so I would run to Wendy's (closest fast food to work) and get something good and warm. I didn't know of any healthy warm foods that I could fix. By the end of January, I was back to my "normal" self. No more working out and forget trying to fix healthy food, I just wanted warm comfort foods. After all, people that work out must not have kids, work or a life because otherwise they wouldn't have time to exercise- RIGHT????
DOES THIS RING ANY BELLS FOR YOU? Hey, don't be embarrassed! It's what most of us go through! If you don't have someone supporting you, encouraging you, and saying "hey keep going because you are worth it" then it is very easy to stop.
If this is you BUT you still really do want to feel better and take better care of yourself, then I want to share a secret (not really a secret because I post about it on Facebook all the time). YOU ARE WORTH IT AND YOU CAN DO IT!
I am declaring the month of February as LOVE YOURSELF MONTH! I want to be here for you, to give you that encouragement and motivation you need to not give up. I will share healthy meal plans with you (get out of the salad rut) and show you it is POSSIBLE to take care of yourself. So if you are REALLY READY then I am here for you.
What do you have to do? Workout at least 4-5 times a week, drink Shakeology (one of the healthiest meals you can give your body) and chat with me through our private group on FB.
What will I do? I will workout at least 5 times a week, drink my Shakeology, share tasty, healthy recipes with you, show you how to make a meal plan (and stick to it), motivate you to keep going and I WILL HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE!! I want to help you feel great.
